Subsequent to the release of SBW R8 on August 1, 2002, users discovered a couple of issues in the Watson application that may also affect SBW. For this reason, the development team created a patch for the SBW R8 application that corrects these issues. Please note that these issues will not affect all users; if you do not experience the issues listed below, there is NO need to download the patch.
Download the SBW R8 patch if you experience the issues listed below:
- When closing the application, the user receives a dialog box error message that
contains the following text: Create key
‘Software\Hewlett-Packard\Watson\Configurator’ error. This occurs
when the application attempts to write data to the registry where the user
has no “admin rights” (external users)
- The user selects Insert>System in the SBW Configurator, and then modifies
the “filters” in the Model Selection screen. When the user clicks the
“Reset” button to reset the filter parameters to the defaults, the
Whiteboard hangs and will not allow the user to proceed.
The update package (R8 patch) for SBW is to
be installed AFTER the SBW application” has been installed on the user's system.
- Make sure you have the R8 SBW “integrated application” installed on your PC. Make sure you CLOSE the
application before installing the patch (it is also recommended that you
close all other applications, as well).
- Double click the SBW_r8p0b34_Update.exe to execute the file and
apply the patch for R8 SBW application.
